Papaya Sushi Bar
A sushi bar website where guests order in a single window
Home page
Papaya Sushi Bar is a sushi restaurant in Swarzędz. I rebuilt its site so the main content appears 11 times faster and an address search shows the delivery cost.
Menu and ordering in one window
The menu with its categories and the basket open full-screen over the page, so guests choose dishes and order without leaving the restaurant’s website.
Delivery zone map
The map shows four zones with the delivery price, minimum order and free delivery threshold, and automatically identifies the right zone once an address is entered.
Menu in 4 languages
The dine-in menu works as a web page in Polish, English, German and Ukrainian, with spicy and vegetarian dishes marked and a PDF version available.
Papaya Sushi Bar is a sushi restaurant in Swarzędz that is open every day, takes online orders and delivers them across four zones. After analysing what was slowing the site down, I rebuilt it on a lightweight theme, combined the menu and basket in a single window, and displayed the delivery cost on a zone map with an address search. The website works in four languages, is 16 times lighter than before, and its main content appears 11 times faster.

01Challenge
The restaurant needed a simple website that was inexpensive to maintain and connected to its online ordering system. In the previous version, the main content took almost a minute to appear, and the menu embedded in the page made it much longer and left blank areas while scrolling.
02Solution
- I analysed what was slowing down the previous version and rebuilt the website on a lightweight theme that loads quickly and is inexpensive to maintain.
- I combined the menu and basket in a full-screen window that opens from a button and from the header, so guests can order without scrolling through a long page.
- I designed a map of the four zones with delivery prices and minimum orders, which automatically shows the zone and delivery cost once an address is entered.
- I prepared English, German and Ukrainian versions and a dine-in menu built from a single data source, so each price is changed in one place for all four languages.
